We are thrilled to announce that St Catherines Care Home & The Manor at St Catherine's raised a remarkable £500 during their Easter Cake & Craft Fair!
This brings their total fundraising efforts to £1,500 for their fantastic charity partner, Dementia Forward.
A huge thank you to all who supported and helped make this event a success. Together, we are making a positive difference in the lives of those living with dementia.
Our residents across our homes had a blast celebrating St Patrick’s Day in true Irish style! From green decorations, arts & crafts to traditional Irish folk music, the day was filled with lots of fun and laughter.
It’s wonderful to see everyone coming together to support such a great cause and have fun while doing so!
#RedNoseDay2024 is a fantastic way to raise awareness and funds for those in need. Thank you to all our residents and staff, who participated by having cake sales, quizzes, face painting, & pop up dances around the home and generally getting involved to make the day so special.
Our Mother’s Day was filled with love and happiness as we celebrated Mothering Sunday across all our homes with flowers, cupcakes, presents, and afternoon tea’s. A fabulous day spent with loved ones, creating some lovely memories.

Our residents and staff at Riverhead Hall celebrated World Book Day in style, dressing up in costumes inspired by their favourite book characters—from Superman to Harry Potter and Disney princesses!

Our Eighton Lodge residents had lots of fun writing “advice to their younger selves” on whiteboards. It’s always lovely to hear what words of wisdom they have for us! What advice would you share with your younger self?
We had so much fun yesterday for pancake day! We tried all our favourite toppings from fresh fruit, to whipped cream, syrup and chocolate spread. What’s your favourite pancake topping?
Last week, our homes celebrated Burns Night in true Scottish style! From themed quizzes to flag decorating, haggis tasting, and singalongs. What a fantastic way to honour Scotland’s rich heritage!
Over at our St Catherine’s home in York, residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon trip to Dean’s Garden Centre with their friends from The Manor. Some fresh air, a drop of rain, and a cosy coffee in the café made for the perfect day out!
We're excited to share that our young onset dementia home, The Manor, recently presented a £1000 cheque to their local charity partner, Dementia Forward, after a successful Craft & Cake Fair last month!
A big thank you to all our staff, clients and everyone involved. The funds raised will help Dementia Forward continue to provide crucial support services and resources for individuals and families affected by dementia throughout York and North Yorkshire.
Busy bees at Riverhead Hall! Our residents have kicked off the new year with lots of fun activities such as jigsaw puzzles, flower arranging and even tried their hand at finger knitting. These activities are excellent not just for boosting cognitive engagement but also for improving residents hand dexterity which is particularly important.
Across our homes, our staff and residents brought in the new year with delicious food and drink, singing and dancing, and even set some gaols and wishes for 2024. We hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and wish you all the best for the year ahead!
A big thank you to everyone who sent in thoughtful nominations on behalf of a neighbour, friend, or loved one to receive one of our festive boxes. We received some lovely photos from our homes as they delivered the boxes to their nominees as part of Wellburn’s ‘festive box drop’ initiative!
Here at Wellburn, we love everything Christmas! And right now, both our staff and residents are busy gearing up for the holiday season with festive arts and crafts, baking, decorating, and of course enjoying their favourite Christmas films!
Our residents at Garden House enjoyed a creative session experimenting with autumnal sensory trays, soaking autumn leaves in essential oils like bergamot and sweet orange/pumpkin. They then used pencils and pastels to colour in some lovely autumnal/ winter scenery sheets!
Our residents over at Garden House in Berwick have been busy making poppy wreaths to create a display for their homes entrance in honour of the upcoming Remembrance Day this Saturday. Such a lovely gesture!
Over at The Manor at St Catherine’s, the spooky festivities continued last night as clients put up eerie decorations to set the stage for a movie night full of thrills in their state of the art cinema lounge!
We’ve been up to all sorts of spooktacular activities across our homes, from pumpkin carving to baking and decorating homemade Halloween treats. We’re looking forward to welcoming some trick-or-treaters tonight!
We’ve been enjoying lots of birthday fun over at Riverhead Hall recently. Sending very happy belated birthday wishes to residents David & Margaret who recently celebrated their birthdays at Riverhead – we hope you enjoyed your special day & got spoilt!
Another lovely bus trip completed, making a pit stop for a cuppa and a slice of cake at The Drift Café in Morpeth!
What a fantastic afternoon we had celebrating our Ryton Towers team at their Hollywood glamour party last Friday! The day was filled with music, delicious food, fun staff awards, a charity raffle for 'Brighten Ryton', and a heartfelt shout out to our dedicated staff for all their hard work.
Our lovely ladies at Wellburn House enjoyed a little outing to the Metro centre last week! It was the perfect trip out, full of good food, great company and some fantastic finds!
Our residents at Heatherdale have been busy assisting Handyman Graham in preparing some lovely winter hanging baskets. It looks like their efforts have truly paid off after seeing how beautiful they turned out!
Our bank holiday weekend was filled with fun at Riverhead Hall as we partied with friends and family, celebrating with a fantastic Caribbean-themed day! Thank you for everyone who came along and made the day so memorable.
Unleashing their inner artists, our Rosevale ladies painted these beautiful summer butterflies and birds yesterday, giving them a new lease of life! The perfect way to keep busy!
We’ve had some lovely days soaking up the sunshine at over at Riverhead Hall, playing outdoor games, dancing to our favourite tunes and even enjoying a little tipple! The perfect way to spend our summer days!
In honour of National Book Lovers Day, our Heatherdale residents embraced the occasion by unveiling their beloved book trolley! Residents were delighted as they got to browse the collection, picking out some of their favourite books to read. This also sparked discussions and storytelling sessions, as staff and residents shared some of their all-time favourite books which helped them immerse themselves into new fictional worlds!
Yesterday was a day of creative celebration for our St. George's residents as they marked National Allotment Week by taking part in the perfect crafty activity – making these delightful little herb garden jars! What a great way to have readily available fresh herbs to add to all their cooking!
Last week, our residents at Whorlton Grange got all dressed up in preparation for their favourite morning music and movement class with Sophie. And don’t they just look fabulous in their stylish scarves!
When it comes to making jelly, our Rosevale residents take it very seriously! Concentration faces on, they crafted a delightful array of different coloured fruit jelly to taste test with their fellow residents the following day - what a treat!
What a fantastic weekend we had sponsoring Wigginton Grasshoppers FC as they hosted their annual Wigginton football gala in York! It was an amazing weekend showcasing the young teams passion and love for football while our clients from The Manor had a great time presenting medals and trophies to the kids on their special day!
As our St Catherine's dementia specialist care home and The Manor, our new groundbreaking home specialising in young onset dementia, are both located in the heart of Wigginton's local community, we were thrilled to collaborate with Wigginton Grasshoppers and be part of their fantastic gala event celebrating both football and community. A huge thank you to Wigginton Grasshoppers for hosting us, and congratulations to all the incredible teams who participated!
Our Rosevale residents had a fantastic time during their recent visit to the Hound Lounge Café in New Earswick! Not only do they serve up delicious cakes and coffee, but there's also lots of adorable furry friends to meet and greet too!
Coastal trips, fish & chips and ice cream! Our Heatherdale residents enjoyed a lovely coastal bus trip where they were treated to delicious fish & chips from Coastline Fish & Chip shop in Blyth before stopping for ice cream on the journey home!
Cheers to the Greatest Dads! Our residents had a lovely day celebrating Father's Day across our homes as they were treated to cards, gifts, visits from loved ones and of course a drink or two to celebrate the special day!
What a wonderful visit to White House farm our residents at Heatherdale had for some animal therapy! They loved meeting all the animals and managed to tick off some life goals too!
Over at our Craghall home, our residents have had some busy mornings in the garden planting sweet peas and herbs ready to make a start on their patio herb garden and sensory area!🪴🌱We can’t wait to see how it comes along over the summer!
Our residents at Garden House have been out and about on another trip to the seaside, enjoying the lovely sunny weather with an ice cream and a walk along the prom!
What a fabulous day our resident's at St George's & Glenholme House had when their friends at Little Movers came to visit for another fun day of intergenerational dancing sessions! Our residents love these sessions with the young children and get great wellbeing benefits out of them too, both physically and socially.
We have had the most fantastic weekend celebrating the Kings coronation across our 14 homes with coronation themed parties, delicious afternoon tea spreads and plenty of fun and games to mark the special occasion!
