AREA MANAGER

Wellburn Care Homes Ltd was established in 1986 and has grown to 14 Homes based in Yorkshire and North East England caring for the elderly.   The company ethos is ‘Care without Compromise’   The Company substantially re-invests to ensure that the high standards of care and ‘home’ ambience are maintained.

The Area Manager’s role reports to the Operations Manager.

The role for the person appointed, will include line managing 4/5 Homes in addition to being custodian of our Quality and Compliance practices.    It is critical that applicants possess the high level of personal drive together with the knowledge and leadership skills to make change happen.

The person appointed must:

*      Have previously managed a Care Home and have current experience of working with regulatory authorities and agencies. 

*      Will be capable of adopting the lead position in ensuring that our Quality and Compliance Policies and Procedures are at all times current and appropriate to the needs of business. Therefore is it important that you can demonstrate first class written and verbal communications skills.

*      Be prepared to dedicate to the time and travelling commitments required to meet the objectives of this role.

Care Assistant/Driver (Part Time 24 hours)

We are currently looking to recruit a Care Assistant/Driver to work at Glenholme Day Centre in Roker, Sunderland.

You will be part of a team working with our clients and their families to provide high quality person centred care. In return you will be supported to achieve this through excellent training opportunities.

Manager - full time

Garden House is part of the Wellburn Care Homes Group, which has 14 Homes and a Day Centre throughout the North East and North Yorkshire regions.

Kitchen Assistants x 2 (16 hours each)

We are currently looking to recruit two part time Kitchen Assistants at Garden House in Spittal, Berwick on Tweed

You will support the Cook in the effective operation of the kitchen and ensure the kitchen is kept hygienically clean to the required standard.   In this busy kitchen it is therefore essential that you have the ability to work effectively in a team and have good communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities 

Ensuring food is used within the prescribed period to minimise wastage with particular attention paid to perishable goods. 

Ensuring that the kitchen rota is adhered to and the kitchen is hygienically clean and the floor mopped where necessary.

As a Team Leader, the role is to support the person in charge in all aspects of the home's management, including taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the person in charge. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations. 

 

To monitor the performance of care staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the desired standards contributing to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere.

Housekeeper - Full Time (36 hours)

We are currently looking to recruit a Full Time (36 hours) Housekeeper 

Key Responsibilitie

  • To allocate a cleaning programme for each domestic employee and to monitor the quality and thoroughness of their work to ensure the Home is clean and odour free.
  • To be part of the cleaning rota and to share in the cleaning duties and in accordance with laid down cleaning procedures
  • To take all reasonable steps to ensure the safekeeping of residents property 
  •  Ensure the rooms are prepared to a high standard for all new admissions

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Nights Team Leader at our Grimston Court Residential care home in Grimston, York.  

 

As a Team Leader, the role is to support the person in charge in all aspects of the home's management, including taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the person in charge. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations. 

 

To monitor the performance of care staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the desired standards contributing to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere.

 

To read and write reports/care plans and participate residents meetings and reviews as appropriate.  Ensuring that appropriate, individual care is given to each resident, in accordance with the Care Plans.

 

To assist in the administration, control, storage, rotation and disposal of drugs and medicines. 

 

Helping residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence, helping with the use of disability aids and personal equipment.

 

Promotion of mental and physical activity of residents.  Help organise social activities, and to accompany residents on community visits when required and as duty rotas permit.

To order fresh food and supplies from preferred suppliers.
