Over the past few months, as part of a series of sensory workshops in partnership with Sensory Connexions, we’ve been busy welcoming local nursery and school children from around the North East into our homes. Each sensory workshop involves engaging activities that benefit both the children and our residents, which in turn aids personal, social, and emotional development. We’ve found that our residents really respond to an increased level of engagement and interaction, particularly when participating in meaningful activities, so workshops like these are vital to our residents wellbeing. Sensory Connexions owners, Denise Wilson-Bainbridge and Gill Chapman reflected on the partnership ‘We’re passionate about the benefits our workshops bring, enabling residents and children to explore their creative sides together. Whilst working with Wellburn, we’ve all seen such positive results, which is a huge thrill.’
