Riverhead Hall took part in the East Yorkshire Boccia Competition in conjunction with East Yorkshire County Council at the Driffield Sports Centre.  Three of our residents competed with other local care homes and won the competition and received a cup and a certificate.  Our residents have also qualified for the Regional Final Competition which took place on the 1st June in Beverley.

We arrived on a scorching hot day and “eyed” up the competition from homes which had come from far and wide from around East Yorkshire. All in all there were 24 homes in the finals, we played in 4 separate courts, all against 4 other homes. We won the first 2 games, drew another 2 then lost the last few. We were up against some very good players, but all in a good days gaming and we played very well indeed.  All 3 residents thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience with the added loveliness of a beautiful sunny day.

We headed home all sporting a medal for competing in the fab regional games and a photo of the Riverhead Team, which is proudly positioned next to Riverheads’ Winning Trophy for the Driffield Area Care Homes Boccia Competition.  Well done and congratulations.
