I would like to say a big thank you for all your kindness you showed me when I lost my daughter Maureen. It’s something I shall never forget, so thank you all very much.

Riverhead Hall, Adrian
August 2019

Came to visit my friend today, how lovely to see her looking so well and happy and cared for. The staff I met were so kind and caring to her and others around offering choice and respect. I work in care and so good to see such high standards in such a lovely place. Thanks for the care you are giving.

Wellburn House, Kate
August 2019

Wellburn House is a gem of a care home. All the staff are professional, attentive & kind, and go the extra mile to make residents feel cared for and very much at home.

On coming to visit there is a lovely atmosphere and always a warm, friendly welcome. There are several areas to sit with family and the outlook onto the gardens is beautiful- good for the soul!

I feel very comfortable knowing my mother is being looked after so well & she is very happy here.

Ryton Towers, Jane, Andrew, Malley, Karen & John
August 2019

A short note to express our deep gratitude for the love and care you gave to our dad in his final months. I can honestly say his stay with you is the happiest he’d been for a number of years and this, we know, is down to the attention you gave him on a daily basis.

There is no words to express how thoughtful and caring you were at the end, to not only our dad, but all of us attending his bedside. We were aware that our visits were continuous but you were all magnificent in not only doing the right thing, but saying the right things and being there to support us at our most difficult time.

You truly are wonderful people, each and every one of you!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

St Catherine’s, Louise Bainbridge
April 2019

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank yourself, Carolyn and your team for the care, kindness and compassion you showed, not only to our mother, but also us as a family during mum’s last few weeks. Please know that this truly gives our family a sense of comfort, knowing that mum was nursed in the best possible place.  It’s very evident that you lead and manage a wonderful environment, full of caring people and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend St Catherine’s Nursing Home.

Craghall, Janis & Rosyln
March 2019

The “this is your life” project has been excellent. We enjoyed getting the information from Mum and learn a few things we didn’t know! A massive thanks to Nicola, the lifestyle coordinator, for pulling everything together- it must have been a massive task. In-fact Nicola should be especially commended for everything she does at Craghall. She is so thoughtful and takes time to find our residents interests. The amount and quality of activities she provides is outstanding.

Riverhead Hall, family member
March 2019

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and my family to thank all of the outstanding staff at Riverhead Hall. My father, who passed away on 4th March spent the last two years of his life with you all. I cannot recommend Riverhead Hall enough. My dad had dementia and spent most of the time quite confused, but the staff were fantastic, and he was extremely happy.

Craghall, family member
March 2019

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all staff involved in mum’s care, we could not praise Craghall highly enough. We’re in a fortunate position whereby my mum’s health has significantly improved whilst staying with you, in a much shorter timeframe than we were expecting, therefore we are able to continue her recovery at home.

From our initial visit, to mum’s stay, the staff have been truly exceptional. Everyone we have met has been caring, considerate, professional and went above and beyond our expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend Craghall to anyone.

Heatherdale, Peter and June
February 2019

Both June and myself would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone at Heatherdale for the care of my Mam. It was difficult for us when she had to go into care, but in hindsight we made the right decision because she was cared for and loved by the team. I could sleep at night knowing she was safe and being looked after.

When visiting Mam, we were always made to feel welcome and grew fond of the other residents as well as the staff team. For me personally, the most important attribute of the staff is their abundant sense of humour, whilst dealing with daily challenges, however remaining professional, compassionate and caring at all times.

During the last year of my Mam’s life, she was cared for in a safe environment, entertained, valued and loved because she spent it at Heatherdale.

Glenholme House, Lesley, Rachel and Kate
February 2019

Jean was a resident of Glenholme House from 2010, until January of this year. I would like to place on record the thanks of her family for the patience of your staff showed as her cognitive function deteriorated, the respect they afford her and the care of the highest standard that was generally given to her throughout her time at Glenholme.

We value immensely the lengths the staff went to in order to facilitate her discharge from hospital during the final weeks of her life. Once back “home” she was treated with dignity, kept very comfortable and was shown so much genuine kindness and affection by all the staff involved in the running of Glenholme. Thanks to all those had working, caring people, at the end of her life she was able to have a peaceful and dignified death.

Her family wanted to make you aware of how much we appreciated all the staff at Glenholme.

I just want to say a huge thank you for all the wonderful care and love shown to Mum over the years. Especially the past few weeks. Also, the amazing support shown to me/. You will be forever in my heart. I have never met such kind and caring people. I feel humbled by each and every one of you. God Bless.

Wellburn House, Carol and Friends

We would like to say a big thank you for making Wednesday such a pleasant afternoon. It meant a great deal to Carole to have all her friends around her. We did not expect such a lovely spread and the wine went down a treat.

Heatherdale, Mary and David

Dads been in Glenholme House for just over a year, and in that time I have been exceedingly grateful for the care he has received. The staff here go above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating a genuine sense of care.

Ryton Towers, Anne
November 2018

Would you please pass on my thanks for a great night (the launch of the Pantry) to everyone concerned. The dining room is truly remarkable, and Rachel must be extremely proud of all of her input. The catering was delicious and all who helped, need a huge pat on the back.

It was wonderful to see such a large number of people supporting the evening. A huge thank you for all for a job well done.

Garden House, Michael and Family
December 2018

Thank you for all the care, love and attention given to Margaret over the three years she lived at Garden House. It was so comforting to know that she lived her last years in such a safe, happy and caring place where she was treated with so much dignity and respect. We cannot thank you enough.

Garden House, Douglas, Louise and Helen
December 2018

Thank you very much for the friendship and care you and all your colleagues provided Theo and myself over the years she resided in Garden House. Louise, Helen and I were always assured she was well looked after and happy.

The whole team at Garden House worked so hard providing great quality care to Theo and all the residents, and we are very grateful to you all for this. Everybody was always full of smiles and was always so welcoming to all of us. Nothing ever seemed too much bother and Theo and her room were always clean and well cared for.

Theo always enjoyed the live music in the home, tapping her feet to the music. We know that she recognised the welcoming bark from Chloe. The friendly and positive atmosphere made the transition to care easier for all of us.

Please pass on our thanks to the whole team and also to those that provided entertainment and services to Garden House. We will always be grateful to everybody.

Glenholme House, Gillian & Family
December 2018

We’d all like to genuinely thank every one of you, for the care and support you gave to Mam whilst she was a resident at Glenholme House. Following the few years she attended Glenholme for day care, there was never going to be a question of which home to choose if the need arose. You have continued to provide an excellent quality of care, both in her personal needs and the entertainment, which as you all know, she loved.

I know mam would have chosen Glenholme herself if she could, so I know it was the right choice. She still liked a bit of a sing song and a dance as you know, and she also enjoyed a laugh with you all. You also made me and my family welcome at all times. You all played your part, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are so grateful to you all.

Whorlton Grange, Laura.
July 2018

Due to my grandpa’s recent move to Whorlton Grange, I have been updating friends and family of his location. Every time they enquire to his wellbeing, I find myself unable to state any faults regarding his experiences so far.

Every time I have visited him, every member of staff has warmly greeted myself and other family members without fail. As I watch and listen to the care that is being provided to my grandpa and other residents, I can only say it is always of the highest standard and respect that anyone could wish for.

The facilities you have are amazing, and the activities and trips that are organised are always above and beyond brilliant. I recently attended the relaunch party and the day of the Royal Wedding, and the effort made and attention to detail was exceptional.

Overall I would just like to say thank you all, for welcoming my grandpa and my family into a new era of my grandpas’ life so easily. All staff have massively contributed to my grandpas’ happiness, wellbeing and care to a level that anyone would ever wish for a loved one.

Thanks to you all, my family and myself feel my grandpa can continue to live a safe, happy and loved life, which he otherwise may not have experienced elsewhere.

Heatherdale, family member.
June 2018

My mum loves company and has made lots of friends at Heatherdale. She likes eating with others and being part of groups. It is amazing the amount of social activities going on. Mum used to love knitting but can only do a bit now her eyesight is so bad. The carers picked up on this and she now takes part in a knit and knatter group, which meets at the home and sometimes at the local café.

Mum loves taking part in most of the activities and has a  particularly fondness for the Activites co-ordinator, who she tells me is really thoughtful and takes time out of her day to really listen to my mums needs and thoughts.

It’s hard not being able to look after your own mum, but I am glad there are such good places in the world as Heatherdale.

To all of the staff at Grimston Court, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything you did for our dad. For the love and care you all gave him during his short stay with you. He was really happy in your care and I am so glad he got to spend his final weeks in a fabulous care home with such lovely staff.

I cannot thank you enough for all of your help. You are all a true credit to Grimston Court and I would not hesitate in recommending your home to others.

St Catherine’s Jacky, James & Andrew.
June 2018

Our Father, Alan, would have wanted to thank you all for the care and kindness you gave to him, during his eleven months with you at St Catherine’s. Although he would have preferred to be at home, St Catherine’s became his home and you, part of his family.

He appreciated and was grateful for everything you all did for him, and we are too. We were always made to feel welcome, and in allowing us to bring all of the extra things into his room, made it all the more pleasant for our dad.

We wanted to show our appreciation for everything.

Thank you all so much for the care and affection you gave to my mother, Dorothy, when she came to live at Grimston Court. Your warm welcome meant she settled into her new home quickly, and I was reassured.

I know she enjoyed your company and watching events around her. The photos of her with her ice cream during the trip to Scarborough last year, are a lovely reminder of how you included her in activities.

I appreciate very much your responsiveness to any concerns I had, and value immensely the support you gave me during my mother’s last days. Because of that, I was able to be with her in her own room where it was calm and quiet.

I shall always be grateful and will never forget.

Words can’t express how grateful we are for the care provided on Dad’s release from York Hospital. He’s been well fed, entertained, and most of all, secure, which in turn, gives great peace of mind. What has been so important to me, is you have given me a break, and allowed me some time for myself.

A huge thank you. Keep smiling, you all deserve a medal.

Derek McDonough
March 2018

I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to you and your team during the end of life care that you gave to my mother, Audrey McDonough. The level of care that you put in place during her last hours was first-class in every way.

Not only did you go the extra-mile in making her comfortable, but my whole family received the absolute best attention at every moment. May I also take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks to you team. It is difficult for me to articulate in strong enough terms just how caring, helpful and professional every one of them were.

It would be very easy for me to say that throughout her stay at Ryton Towers she was comfortable and well-cared for. However, the service that you provide gives every one of your residents the best care available and this enables families to have peace of mind. It also gives families the freedom to live their lives, safe in the knowledge that they can visit when they need to and leave knowing that their loved ones are safe and comfortable.

I would be grateful if you would extend my profound gratitude throughout your whole team, and I would like you to communicate my sincere thanks to your senior leadership team at Wellburn.

Over the past 16 months, I have come to regard you all as dear friends and I will continue to pop in periodically to say hello and see the happy faces of your residents.

September 2017

Please pass on my sincere thanks to everyone who planned, organised, performed and helped to make the Forever Young Music Festival such a wonderful multi-generational event today.

Mum was diagnosed with dementia over five years ago and has been a happy resident at Grimston Court for over three years.  Today we danced and sang, sat, watched, enjoyed and loved the music.  She enjoyed it all so much she didn’t want to leave and stayed in the Peacock Park Tent for over four hours.  The music had such a powerful effect on mum and the enjoyment almost overwhelmed her.  To see her so happy and enervated was wonderful.  She was more alert, more responsive, more aware and had more language and understanding than she had for six months.  The redemptive power of music and a shared experience was very apparent.

It has more heart and soul than any other Music Festival I’ve attended before..

I wish to say an enormous thank you to every single one of you for your amazing and very special care of my mother, Mary during her eighteen months with you.  I know you always say “it’s our job” but I have seen much more than the job.  You always treated Mary with dignity, but also with so much genuine kindness and affection.

Thank you to those people who kept her clothes beautifully laundered; to those who lay beside her on the floor waiting for an ambulance; to those who supplied her with yoghurts and other between meal snacks; to those who provided her with midnight feasts.

Thank you to the person who made the gardens a joy to look out on and walk in.

I have more heartfelt ‘thank you’ to you all for the extraordinary kindness and support you have given me, personally at a very difficult time in my life.  I will never forget that.

Richmond School would like to say a massive thank you, for giving our young students the opportunity to experience the world of work, through a placement within your company. One of our recently returned, was full of praise for the way she was treated, and has opened her eyes to the possibility of work within the care industry. Without such placement opportunities, some of the best students would be lost to other industries. So thank you and we look forward to our continued partnership.

I wanted to take this opportunity to write to you on behalf of Sally-Ann and myself, to thank you for the excellent care you and your staff provided at Nightingale Hall.  We always felt confident that she was comfortable, safe and well looked after, and we could not have wished for a better place for her to spend her last days.

Even though she was latterly overwhelmed by her medical conditions and difficulties, I hope that you were still able to recognise her sense of humour, fun and gratitude, which she often expressed to me, for the care that she was being given.  We were also grateful for the prompt and tactful way in which your various staff members kept in touch with us by phone, especially during the last few months.

Christine, Linda, Janet and Susan
July 2017

Dear all at Nightingale Hall, thank you so much for the exceptional care given to Kath for the last four years.  In the beginning, she was more a member of your team looking after others.  She used to enjoy all the activities and outings you had.  It was so comforting to us, knowing that she was returning from hospital and spending her last few days, being cared for by the ones she had really come to love and trust.  Thank you once again from her sister-in-law, Jenny and four nieces.

To all staff at Craghall, thank you so much for caring for my mum over the last few years, and also for the kindness shown to our family when we visited.  Craghall really is a lovely home, and a credit to all of you who work there.  Sadly, we've had to move her into a home closer to us, which will make it easier for us to visit. We'd all like to give special  thanks to Donna, Ellie, Gemma, Sue, Jan, Christine and Debra.

To all the staff at Heatherdale, I would like to thank you on behalf of the family and myself for all the loving care given to my mother, Lillian.  She lived happily in Heatherdale – you made her feel part of a big family.

At the end of her days she was able to have a peaceful and dignified death thanks to all the carers showing concern, compassion and dealing with all her needs.  The family deeply appreciate your kindness at that time.

Thanks again for everything you have done to make mom’s 100th birthday special.  From the decorations, balloons and lovely staff, to the absolutely wonderful buffet.  The food was far beyond our expectations and the best banofee pie and shortbread I’d ever tasted.  Thank you all so much.

To everyone at Heatherdale, thank you all very much for your help, kindness, care and attention that you have all given Ray throughout his last few years at your beautiful home. Although sadly missed, part of Ray will always be with his ‘extended’ family at Heatherdale.

We would also like to thank everyone for your ongoing support for our family and have really appreciated all of your kind words, respect and empathy that has been shown by every member of staff.

To all the staff at Nightingale Hall. When Sonia agreed to take my Dad, Richard none of us had any idea how ill he was, except perhaps him.

I now think he was desperate to find a safe, caring place in which to spend his last time. I am very thankful that he found you. He was only with you 10 days, he passed away very quickly, which in truth was what he wanted.

Thank you for giving him and the rest of his family peace of mind, for carrying out his wishes and for treating us all with kindness, respect and dignity

Just a note to thank you and all your staff for the loving care you gave to Mum during her time with you in St Catherine’s.

As you know, I was so thankful that you were with her at the end and I know you were instrumental in her being able to be discharged from hospital back into your care, also that you were able to keep her calm and comfortable during her last days with you.

Naturally, we are extremely sad, but realise it was the best thing for her, unfortunately this horrible disease robbed us of our Mum a long time ago. She was a lovely Mum and Gran and we will never forget her.

I want you to have this gift, it's so little for all you have done and you kept me calm in the end too. This is a small token from me to thank you for all your help.

Please give our sincere thanks and praise to all the staff who took care of Mum, we will be eternally grateful.
