What people are
saying about us.

  • ‘Nothing is ever too much trouble. Staff are all friendly and caring not only to residents, but also to their family members. Everything is always clean and to a high standard and I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone needing care in Richmond and the lower Dales area’

S.B., son of a resident at Nightingale Hall

  • ‘I cannot praise the staff at Nightingale Hall enough for their care and compassion looking after my mother (and me) from the very first to the very last day. The management were so understanding of our situation, the care staff treated us with the utmost respect and the cleaning staff went above and beyond to make my mother’s stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you all.’

J.S., daughter of a resident at Nightingale Hall

  • ‘My lovely mum was in Nightingale Hall for the last 8 months of her life. It was wonderful to see her so content and well looked after- the staff genuinely cared so well. My mum got lots of hugs and smiles and attention; she was well and truly cared for to an exemplary standard. My mum's end-of-life care was amazing. As an NHS worker myself with involvement in palliative care, I found they were faultless and caring and thought of everything for mum and us. I absolutely recommend this home for your loved ones.’

An average week at

With our dedicated Lifestyle Coordinator and jam-packed activities schedule, no two days are the same here at Nightingale Hall! Discover what an average week at our home looks like:

Monday.

We’re starting our week off the right way - with plenty of puppy love! Animal cuddles are good for our bodies, hearts, and minds, and spending time with our furry friends is guaranteed to put a smile on our faces. We love having a dog-friendly home, and look forward to regular visits from our cherished canine companions. Animal-assisted therapy has been scientifically proven to deliver a whole host of benefits to our mental and physical wellbeing, which is why Nightingale Hall opens its doors to all creatures great and small. It only takes a few minutes for pooch and human to become firm friends, especially when treats are involved!

Tuesday.

They say you are what you eat, and here at Nightingale Hall we must be chock-full of goodness! Today, we were sommeliers for the evening - we put on our best French accents and sampled a selection of cheese and wines. There’s nothing quite like indulging in some really yummy food, and we’re very lucky to have such a brilliant team of kitchen staff who truly cater to our every fancy. Every meal is nutritionally balanced and created with our needs (and wants!) in mind, helping to make sure that we can be the best and healthiest versions of ourselves. Of course, balance is so important when it comes to food and drink, so we definitely make sure to treat ourselves, too!

Wednesday.

All aboard! Today, the wheels on our bus took us to our local garden centre, where we loved having a mooch around all of the plants and flowers, and testing ourselves about their names. Being active is so important for our physical health, and spending time out and about is a natural mood-booster, so we all really love hopping on board our minibus for an adventure. Of course, no trip to the garden centre would be complete without a coffee and a cake in the conservatory, so we made sure to treat ourselves before heading home. Bliss!

Thursday.

We’re an artistic bunch here at Nightingale Hall, and today we let our imaginations run wild with some arts and crafts. Painting, drawing, decorating, baking and crafting are all fantastic outlets for our creativity, and offer huge benefits to our overall wellbeing by keeping our minds stimulated and active. They can help to improve our hand-eye coordination, and are a wonderful way to wind down after a busy few days of being social butterflies! Arts and crafts is definitely one of our favourite hobbies, and it’s always fun to see everyone’s creativity at play. Pablo Picasso, eat your heart out!

Friday.

We’ve well and truly got that ‘Friday feeling’ today, because we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of music therapy with one of our favourite entertainers! We clapped our hands and tapped our toes, and some of us even took to the floor to show off our best dance moves! Music really is good for the soul - studies have shown that it helps to support our cognitive function and mental wellbeing. Our activities schedule always features visits from singers, dancers and performers, and they really are a fan-favourite here at Nightingale Hall… any excuse for us to bust a move and sing our hearts out!

The weekend.

Wow, what a week we’ve had! Weekends are for winding down and spending time with loved ones, and this weekend we did just that. Of course, our families and friends are welcome to pop by whenever they like, and we especially love it when they join in with our activities and day trips. After plenty of love and laughter, we treated ourselves to some much-needed pampering as we enjoyed our regular visit from the hairdresser, as well as enjoying an in-house manicure, massage and aromatherapy. A bit of ‘me-time’ is the perfect weekend wind-down.
